On January 18, 2021, Registered Massage Therapists will continue to be able to see clients, and clients will not be required to have a referral as they were previously.

In order to ensure that our return to practice is as safe and appropriate as possible, we have enacted several operational, hygiene, and cleaning specific practices for the purpose of infection control and prevention. Please be advised that patients must:

  1. Pass the AHS COVID-19 self-screening tool at the time of booking, as well as on the day of the scheduled appointment. In the event that you do not pass the screening, please refrain from booking a new appointment, and/or call the clinic to cancel an existing appointment. Missed appointment fees will not be charged in this case. The tool can be accessed here: https://myhealth.alberta.ca/Journey/COVID-19/Pages/Assessment.aspx The Uthrive MANDATORY COVID-19 Survey will be emailed to you 2 hours prior to your appointment, this must be done for EVERY appointment. The email will be titled “Mandatory COVID-19 Screening”

  2. Clean hands immediately upon entry to the clinic and immediately following appointments

  3. Arrive exactly on-time for appointments. Due to the current restrictions, we must limit congregation in the waiting room prior to appointment times and also must ensure our practitioners are able to finish appointments on-time in order to accommodate cleaning and hygiene practices between patients.

  4. It is MANDATORY to wear a mask inside the clinic. This is due to the City of Calgary Bylaw making it mandatory for people to wear masks in public buildings. If you have an underlining health issue and cannot wear a mask, please let us know!

This practice uses thin needles, tapped into the skin at specific points along a meridian line. This is done to influence circulation and hormones. These meridians are highways of neurological information which directly stimulate the brain to heal the body.

A Manual Osteopathic Therapist works to optimize the self healing mechanisms of the body using techniques such as Osteo-articular corrections ( correcting rotations and side bending vertebrae, misaligned hips, shoulders, etc) Visceral Manipulation ( A gentle treatment to help mobilize the organs in the body ) Cranio-sacral therapy with an Osteopathic approach ( using very light touch to encourage movement of the synarthrodial joints of the cranium) and myofascial remodelling ( working with the fascia of the body to restore posture and movement.)
A Manual Osteopathic Therapist works with a wide variety of conditions, scaling from chronic headaches, PTSD, nerve impingement including sciatica, shoulder impingement, knee pain, neck pain, digestive issues, urinary dysfunctions, reproductive system dysfunctions, postural dysfunctions, and chronically tight muscles.
A large part of the Osteopathic assessment is for the therapist to see how the clients body moves and assess any limitations, so that they can help restore movement in the body. The therapist will assess the body as a whole for each different condition, meaning structurally and functionally and the client will remain fully clothed for the duration of the appointment. It is very common for an MOT to give you exercises to take home to assist with your bodies healing process, as well as to come up with a treatment plan. ( how many appointments needed, and a possible end date or date of re-assessment.) Please bring athletic clothing/stretch pants to your appointments as you will need them for assessment and treatment. If you have been dealing with Chronic pain or one of the conditions listed above, a Manual Osteopathic treatment might be what you have been looking for! Book in today! ( Always consult your physician to rule out Chronic Disease or infection, a Manual Osteopathic therapist does not diagnose or prescribe medication)

*As of now, Insurance companies do not allow direct billing for Osteopathic Treatments, invoices must be submitted manually*
